DESTINY VS. MISTAKES IN LIFE

In my essay, I would like to focus on what happened in lives of two Beauties - if it
was faith or if what happened was their fault. The two girls are taken from thewellknown
fairy-tale of Beauty and the Beast(La Belle et la Bête, 1756) and maybe less
known story of The Tiger’s Bride(1979).
At first, I would like to familiarize you with the two stories. Beauty and the Beastis
typical fairy-tale. Beauty lives with her father and siblings. Her family is poor but one
day the father, merchant, goes to the town to make a huge trade. He asks his
children what can he bought them. Beauty asks for a rose. In the merchant’s way
back home he losts his way and has to sleep over in a strange house where is bad
and food prepared for him but no man appears. Next day he wants to go home and
on his way from the house and its garden he sees a bush of roses. He remembered
Beauty and her wish and tears off one of the roses. At that time Beast appears and is
very angry because he loves his roses. He gives the man some treasury and says to
him that he or one of his daughters has to come back and die. Beauty insists of going
there. So she and her father go there and the merchant leaves her there. Although
this fairy-tale ends well by revealing that the Beast is a handsome young man and he
and Beauty fell in love together, I will work only with the story until she came to
Beast’s house. I think that this is the worst moment of the whole story.
